The 10 Buttons
Rated 3 / 5 stars October 27, 2008
Actually, it's okay.
There's not much of a reason to go on through the levels, though. The gameplay isn't "fun" in the conventional sense. Good music choice, by the way.
Rated 3 "Nothing too new or interesting," raised score to 1.95 / 5.00 (+ 0.0097)
Keep trying!

It's not a game, it's a strategy guide.
I'm not quite sure how to review this, because it sure as hell isn't a game. If you wanted to do something like this, you should have included it in the original 10 Buttons.
Tic tac toe 3 in a row

If the AI was inteligent...
If the AI was any good, this would be a good diversion. As it is, it's something to show off to the friends and shout, in unison, "EPIC AI FAIL!" You need to do some work on the AI, maybe look up the unbeatable tic-tac-toe algorithm.
Also, if there was any difference in the difficulty levels, that would be appreciated.

thanks but having smart AI kinda makes the game unbeatable so yeah

Luigi's Mansion Loop

Expression is the key.
The strings just feel dead. There's no expression there, as there is in the original song. Because of that, it just doesn't feel right. The notes are right, which is more than many arrangers seem to be able to do, but nothing else stands out in particular. Giving the strings a little feeling, or a lot, would vastly improve this.
7/10: Average
i agree, i have yet to get a sample of a more eerie or at least a more lengthy sample of strings.
thanks for the review!
Heavy Burden (original 8bit)
Rated 3.5 / 5 stars April 28, 2009
Okay.
This is some nice work. However, I felt like you were afraid to stray from the main melody, and it didn't sound quite 8-bit...maybe more 16-bit. The samples were a bit too high quality. This is a good start, though. I'd love to see you build on this.
7 = "Nice work. Could be improved."

LoZ-Ocarina Medley for Piano
Rated 5 / 5 stars October 26, 2008
This is music.
I don't give out 10s. I almost never do. 3 songs, as of today, have recieved 10s from me. But this is just...perfect. That's the only word I can use. The songs from this game were already beautiful, but put on piano, I can only begin to express how I felt when I heard the song. As soon as the first notes cut in, I was myself, 4 years old, sitting in front of the N64 I got for Christmas for the very first time, staring at the Legend of Zelda title screen. I was the innocent child, discovering music. That's right. The Legend of Zelda inspired me to play piano. It was positively amazing. One of the greatest game soundtracks of all time, I had replayed it in my head at last once every week from that day on.
Then one day, I quit piano. I had had enough. I needed a permanant hiatus.
And you've done the best thing you could have possibly done for me. You inspired me to take piano back up. As soon as I heard this song, I called my teacher and said, "James? I'm back to piano." The beauty of this song called my attention, once again, to music; as the original did the me of 4 years old, playing the Prelude of LIght on anything I could possibly find. And now, after a terrible decision, you have inspired me.
The way you handled these songs was very well done, and the bass notes, while rarely placed, added that note of "Oh my god. This is freaking amazing." The E-G-E2, E-G-E2, F#2..GF#GF#DB1 (I hope you understand that (by the way, what was that theme?)) brought tears to my eyes.
After the longest review I've written in a long time, that passage comes on once again. I salute you, Setu-Firestorm. You helped me more than you can ever know.
Please respond, just so I know you read this.
5/5. Raised to 4.21 / 5.00 (+ 0.00065).

Thank you. I'm encouraged by the fact that I was able to inspire.
When I started reading your review, I thought "Jesus, you're makin' me feel old. N64 came out when I was in 8th grade! >.<"
But on a more serious note, I had a similar experience in piano lessons. I started playing piano when I was 4 years old, and quit 13 years later because I didn't want to follow my piano teacher's wishes and become a concert pianist playing music that other people composed hundreds of years ago; the only time music made me feel alive was when I was creating it myself. Oddly enough, my piano instructor tried to discourage me from composing, but the desire to was stronger than my desire to continue taking instruction under her.
I guess, in the end, you just have to find the part of your heart that makes you want to breathe music and follow that.
Again, thank you for your review.

F**KING,,,
As a movie on its own, this is a 10. However, you screwed up my memories of Power Star--I don't like that.
Good flash, loved the music juxtaposition. (DICTIONARY!)

I know what juxtaposition means. I love that word =)

,,,
I can't stop seeing this. Sprite movies are almost always parodies, but this has progressed into something more...something epic.
I am touched by this movie. I will never see Mario in the same way again. My all-time favorite video on Newgrounds, ever.
This deserves everything.

Not amazing.
Comedy based entirely on randomness won't appeal to everyone. Some people will like this Flash, but others (like myself) will find it only slightly more useful than a paper cutter without a blade.
I can see you did some work on this, and you have some Flash skill, but the content really didn't astound me.
